My Dad's favorite caliber for deer and larger game is 350 Rem Mag and the best all around caliber for small and medium game is 44-40 Win. I like a handy Turkish walnut stocked Kimber SVT for hunting under 200 yards. My dad's favorite general rifle is my Kimber SVT in 350 Rem Mag.
My favorite rifle is my new Kimber SVT with the Turkish walnut chambered in 44-40 Win and 350 Rem Mag. One drawback with this shooter is the Kimber price, weighing in at $395, but for that you do get a hand crafted piece of artwork with the Turkish walnut stock. My friend (Tad) said his favorite caliber is the 350 Rem Mag he got at a NWTF banquet last season. I got my Kimber 350 Rem Mag at the Wiley Outdoor Sports in Wanette. I ordered my Kimber SVT in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Wanette, Minnesota.
